Villa Chapel - Lake Garda

My husband and I have been regular guests for 8 years and we love the location, the view of the lake is fab, the size of the room we book year on year and the plentiful breakfast. We have noticed over the last couple of years that the current manager has definately improved the service and also our cleaner is very good and friendly. Both always very welcoming and do a fantastic job . We ll be back soon.

good points first: the lady at the reception seems to be doing her best to provide good service despite the hotel owner's notable lack of investment. she also gave us a great restaurant recommendation. the location is very beautiful and accessible for those with a car. The hotel offers an average breakfast. now the most important: it’s an old house without maintenance. we stayed in a ground floor room (number 5) it was just awful - dirty and cold. The bathroom didn’t have a functional heating, it was freezing cold. this hotel is far from four stars. the room had cobwebs in the corners, the wall was all dirty and peeling, the bathroom stall was mouldy. the room was very small and was close to the kitchen and a bathroom, so you could hear absolutely everything - people talking, organizing things in the kitchen. maybe the experience of someone who stayed in another room is better. we made a reservation for the annexe room/comfort, but we stayed in this ground floor room besides we made the reservation more than 2 months in advance. Probably the friendly lady knows the conditions of the hotel she works for, so she let us check out after one night, but we paid for the room 7 “comfort” that probably was the one we booked for but wasn’t the one we got. we left disappointed and regretted that we didn't believe the bad reviews. Please avoid this place.
